The Therapy Room for Couples

These terms explain the practical arrangements for therapy sessions at The Therapy Room.

1. Appointments

Sessions are available in person in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid or online, depending on the appointment booked.
Current standard session fees are:

Couples therapy: €125 — 75 minutes
Individual therapy: €85 — 50 minutes

A free 15-minute introductory video consultation is available for prospective clients.

2. Booking and payment

Appointments are arranged through the online booking system or by direct agreement.
Payment is due by bank transfer at least 24 hours before the scheduled session, unless otherwise agreed.

3. Cancellation and rescheduling

I understand that unexpected circumstances arise and sometimes plans need to change.
You can cancel or reschedule your appointment without charge by providing at least 24 hours' notice.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled session are charged at the full session fee.

The full session fee also applies to missed appointments. Exceptions may be made at my discretion in exceptional circumstances.
If I need to cancel a session, you will be offered an alternative appointment or a refund of any payment already made for that session.

4. Confidentiality

Therapy sessions are confidential, subject to applicable legal and professional obligations.
The boundaries of confidentiality, including relevant exceptions, will be discussed as part of our therapeutic agreement.

5. Online sessions

For online appointments, please ensure you have a stable internet connection and a private space where you can speak comfortably.
If technical difficulties interrupt a session, we will agree on an appropriate way to proceed.

6. Therapy and professional responsibility

Therapy is a collaborative process. Its effectiveness depends on several factors, and specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Therapy does not replace emergency mental health care or medical treatment.
