About Francesca · Couples Therapist in Amsterdam
Better relationships don’t just change how we love. They change how we live.
I’m Francesca, an English and Greek-speaking systemic couples therapist in Amsterdam.
I believe a better relationship is more than a private source of happiness. It is a quiet resistance to disconnection, control and the idea that one person must lose for the other to win.
My work is warm, direct and practical. We uncover the patterns keeping you apart, understand where they came from and build a more relational way forward.
How It Feels to Work With Me
Clear
You’ll understand what is happening between you, why it keeps repeating and where our work is going.
Active
I don’t silently watch you repeat the same fight. I slow the pattern down, name what is happening and help you interrupt it.
Honest
Both people matter, but not every problem is automatically fifty-fifty. We face what is happening without shaming either partner.
Practical
Insight matters. But relationships change through what you practise at home, when the old pattern returns.
My Approach
From protection to connection. From you versus me to us.
I bring together direct relational work, emotional depth and a systemic understanding of the wider forces shaping your relationship.
Relational Life Therapy
A direct and active approach that helps you recognise the protective strategies running your relationship, understand where they came from and learn what to do instead.
Emotionally Focused Therapy
We go beneath anger, criticism, withdrawal and shutdown to understand the vulnerable feelings and attachment needs underneath.
Systemic Therapy
We look beyond the individual to the wider system: family history, culture, migration, power, loyalty and the relationship rules you inherited.
A Little About Me
I have also rebuilt a life between worlds.
I’m Greek and based in Amsterdam. Living across countries and cultures has taught me that belonging is not simply a place. It is something we create through the relationships in which we can be fully ourselves.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than 15 years in creative strategy and leadership. That work taught me to see patterns, question inherited assumptions and look beneath the obvious problem.
Today, I bring that same curiosity and clarity into the therapy room. I believe we are not meant to move through life alone, defended and disconnected.
Learning how to live relationally is not a soft skill. It shapes our love, our families and the lives we build around them.
